Since its creation in 2018, MYM has established itself as The French reference platform in the digital landscape. Our mission is simple but ambitious: offer each creator a secure, respectful and ethical framework in which to live from their passion.
For several weeks, an intense public and media debate has taken place around content platforms and the profession of content creator. While it is legitimate to open a debate on a phenomenon, we have been able to read, hear and see a lot of prejudices, preconceived ideas or false truths. Faced with this, it is important that we provide facts, figures and concrete things. Because MYM, far from cliches, offers new answers to challenges that have never been solved before.
1. DEBUNK THE MYTH, “HOW MUCH DOES ADULT CONTENT REPRESENT AT MYM?”
Despite repeated responses in the media, this question comes up frequently. Here is an update (note that as the platform is constantly evolving, these numbers obviously fluctuate a lot) 👇
Over the last 6 months, adult content on MYM has represented:
- 13% of content published on the platform
- 45% of revenue generated by creators
Our role is obviously not to moralize or to judge whether it is “good” or “bad” to publish this type of content. Our responsibility is tooffer the safest possible platform for everyone: creators as well as users.
2. VERIFYING THE AGE OF USERS
At MYM, the protection of minors has been a priority since day one. Access to our platform is strictly reserved for adults, whether to publish or consume content.
To ensure this, since 2022, MYM returned Mandatory age verification for all access to content reserved for adults — long before the law imposed it in May 2025. In particular, we use YOTI's “Facial Age Estimation” technology, a leading solution on the market and used in particular by the Meta group. It's fast, reliable, and secure.
Proof of its effectiveness : in 2024, 335,000 attempts by minors were blocked thanks to this system, preventing them from accessing the platform.
But that's not all!
3. CERTIFICATION OF CREATOR ACCOUNTS
To become a content creator on MYM, the requirement is even higher.
Each profile is subject to a rigorous certification procedure :
- Age check (18+)
- Sending a valid ID
- Transmission of a security selfie with the ID in your hands
- Communication of personal contact details
- Publication of at least 3 pieces of content
- Passage of double authentication via the telephone
- Before a systematic manual check by our dedicated team
For several months, we have reinforced this process with a solution specialized in the detection of documentary fraud. This makes it possible to verify the authenticity of identity documents and to rule out attempts at circumvention.
But this check does not end at the entrance.
We have also put in place post-mortem checks, through robust processes. These controls allow you to:
- Revalidate accounts before a content creator receives their first income
- Identify possible workarounds, such as those revealed in some reports
Result : out of more than 302,000 creator-side certification requests over the past 12 months, nearly 49,700 were refused for non-compliance or suspected fraud. At MYM, registering is not enough: you have to prove your identity.
4. CONTENT MODERATION
Content moderation is also a fundamental pillar of our operation, with a double level of control:
- Proactive : our AI technology automatically blocks suspicious content before publication. They are then analyzed by our Trust & Safety Team, available 24/7. This team is managed by our “Customer Care” department, composed of employees working within our Paris premises and a large team of external moderators (14 people in January 2025).
- Responsive : any user can report content or behavior. In 2024, more than 3,400 reports were processed, mostly in less than 24 hours.
At the same time, note:
- 194,897 pieces of content automatically detected as potentially illicit
- 8,669 pieces of content blocked before publication
- 45,789 contents removed in 2024.
These numbers seem important, but represent a tiny part of the 7.3 million pieces of content published on the platform in 2024.

5. A COMMITTED, SUPPORTED AND SUPPORTED COMMUNITY
MYM is not a window without control. It is an active community of 167,000 certified creators who can count on:
- A team dedicated to supporting them on a daily basis
- Tools to report, block, or manage their subscribers
- Supervised autonomy, where safety and performance go hand in hand.
6. MYM, A COMMITTED FRENCH COMPANY
MYM is also a French success story:
- 18 million users
- 275M euros donated to creators since the beginning
- 105 million euros in turnover in 2024
It is important to specify that we are actively collaborating with the authorities, in particular ARCOM, and we are determined to continue to do so to strengthen security in the digital space through age verification devices, but also the supervision of the activity of agencies, in order to build together a framework more adapted to the realities of the sector.
In fact, we have formulated concrete proposals in this sense, with a clear objective: to promote specific, effective and coherent regulation with real practices. For example: the collaboration between MYM and AFNOR for the standard entitled “Prevention and protection of minors on social networks” (linkage).
7. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
We don't pretend to fix everything alone. But we never ran away from our responsibilities. We fully assume them in a logic of continuous improvement:
